SAE Engine Drive Kits
The SAE engine drive kit allows for a hydraulic pump to be connected directly to an internal combustion engine on the flywheel side. Flywheels are to be to the SAE J620D standard and the flywheel housing to the SAE J617C standard. These standards are common on diesel engines supplied for industrial and marine applications. Not suitable for engines supplied to the automotive market.
The kit consists of a metal hub fixed to the pump shaft, a nylon flange bolted to the flywheel for transmitting the motion and a cast steel or steel adaptor plate for supporting the pump to the flywheel housing.
To choose the drive kit, it is necessary to identify which SAE standard the engine corresponds to, and indicate the type of pump mount and shaft. It is also necessary to verify that the torque to be transmitted does not exceed the maximum torque that the coupling can transmit.
The main features of these drive kits are:
- Compensation of various mis-alignments
- Protection of the pump components
- Low noise levels
- Simple installation
- Reduced overall dimensions
